Best deals on the mortgage market from top ten lenders

It’s another quiet front on the mortgage market, with the most movement taking place in remortgage for London professionals.

 

The married couple 

A married couple, aged 42 and 44, with two kids buying a £525k house. £385k mortgage, 15-year term, LTV 73.33%, earnings of £85k and £57k

 

2 year fixed 

No change on the top offer, which still stands with Leeds at the same rate of last week, £3025.08. 

The average of the top ten lenders remains steady, too, at £3027.45, a minor change from last week’s £3027.45.

 

5 year fixed 

Barclay’s is still number one with its offer of £2940.28 for the third week in a row.

The average from the top ten lenders moves very slightly from £2956.29 to £2957.08.

 

The London professionals

A married couple, aged 45 and 48, with three kids. £1m house. £500k mortgage, 15-year term, LTV 50%, both earn £85k each

 

Mortgage

Halifax has the best offer for the third week in a row at £3904.69. A very small change in the average from the top ten lenders, which is up to £3908.08 from £3906.53.

 

Remortgage

The best offer is still with Skipton but at a new rate of £3651.49, up 0.27% from last week’s £3641.39. The average is up to £3855.85, a rise of 0.11% since last week.

 

First-time buyers

An unmarried couple, aged 29 and 28, no kids, buying a £525k house with a £50k deposit from the BOMAD, 25-year term, LTV 90.48%. One earns £85k, the other earns £57k

Nationwide is still at the top with the best offer at £2863.75. The average mortgage rate is up by 0.29% to £2887.09 from £2878.68 last week.

No change in the best value provider for a five-year fixed rate which is still with Nationwide for £2,863.75.

 

Couple in their twenties

An unmarried couple, aged 28 and 29, on £38k and £32k, who have one child looking to buy a house for £170k with a £20k deposit.

Barclay’s once again holds the most affordable offer this week at the same rate of £865.22. The average of the top ten lenders edged up to £873.49 from £871.12 last week.

 

Single person

Single person with no children after a £190k home with a £60k deposit.

Barclay’s is at the top for the cheapest mortgage offer at £658.59 the same as last week. The average of the top ten lenders is at 3665.89 from £665.63.
