What are the best rates on the market for mortgage lenders this week? 

Twenty7tec reveals the latest market insights for the top ten lenders on the mortgage landscape. Skipton BS dominates for the fifth week in a row, providing London professionals with the most competitive remortgage rates and retaining the top spot for first-time buyer rates.

 

The married couple 

A married couple, aged 42 and 44, with two children, are buying a £525k house. £385k mortgage, 15-year term, LTV 73.33%, earnings of £85k and £57k

 

2 year fixed 

Santander remains on top this week for the best offer for a 2-year fixed mortgage, with the same offer of £2913.56. 

The average of the top ten lenders this week is £2929.65, up 0.22% from last week’s average of £2922.96.

 

5 year fixed 

HSBC also re-claims the top spot this week with its best offer of £2880.24 two weeks in a row. 

The average of the top ten lenders also stays consistent at £2881.50, the same as the previous week. 

 

The London professionals

A married couple, aged 45 and 48, with three kids. £1m house. £500k mortgage, 15-year term, LTV 50%, both earn £85k each 

 

Mortgage

£3756.24 is again this week’s best mortgage rate on the market from Santander. 

£3779.70 is this week’s average of the top ten lenders’ rates, up 0.16% from last week’s average of £3773.43. 

 

Remortgage

Skipton secures the top position for the fifth consecutive week with its offer of £3541.35.

£3715.37 is the average of the lenders’ rates for remortgage deals this week, an increase of 0.22% from the average last week of £3706.98. 

 

First-time buyers

An unmarried couple, aged 29 and 28, with no children, are buying a £525k house with a £50k deposit from the BOMAD, 25-year term, LTV 90.48%. One earns £85k, the other earns £57k

 

This week, Skipton BS has again the best deal on the market for a 63-month fixed rate, with its offer of £2773.40.

Up 0.16%, the new average this week for a 63-month fixed rate is £2790.15, higher than last week’s average of £2785.59

 

The best deal for a 2-year fixed-term mortgage is with Skipton BS, offering £2889.34 this week. 

Skipton BS performs a hat trick for first-time buyers this week, also staying in first place with its offer of £2773.40 for a five-year mortgage. 

 

A couple in their twenties

An unmarried couple, aged 28 and 29, on £38k and £32k, who have one child looking to buy a house £170k with a £20k deposit.

 

HSBC overtakes Cumberland BS this week with a new best offer of £837.79.

For a couple in their twenties, the new average of the mortgage rates is £838.861, an increase of 0.08% from last week’s average, £838.17. 

Single person

Single person with no children after a £190k home with a £60k deposit.

 

AIB steals the crown from Cumberland BS for the best deal for a singleton this week, offering £634.96.

At an increase of 0.07%, the new average mortgage lender rate is £635.842, up from an average of £635.373 last week.
